How to train your rabbit to walk on a leash...like a dog.

Bunny walking on a Harness

1. Get a treat such as a mini carrot, slice of apple, piece of lettuce or any other rabbit treat.

2. Go get your rabbit and put on it's harness and leash. Then pick up you're rabbit and carry it outside if possible.

3. Set your rabbit down on the lawn, and gently tug the leash in the direction you want to go. And remember...this doesn't take just 10 minutes. It will probably take at least 1 week for your rabbit to master it.

4. If your rabbit doesn't come when you tug gently on the leash, simply nudge it's behind with your foot and it will probably move.

5. Practice this over an over again... and remember that this CAN be like walking a dog if you train your rabbit that way. Because, on most sites they say "Walking a rabbit is not like walking a dog... the rabbit leads you, you don't lead it" but once again...it CAN be like walking a dog!

6. Now, this is where the treat come's in. Once your rabbit is pleasing you with walking well on the leash, pet it's head and place the treat in front of it.

7. Remember to not walk your rabbit on the streets, though because if a dog or something is loose...well...you know! Your rabbit could turn into dog-food! So make sure to just stick to your back yard.

8. Repeat this over and over again and your rabbit will soon be a master at walking like a dog, on a leash.

TIPS:

-Give your rabbit lots of praise

-Remember this may take a while, so be patient with your rabbit

-Be gentle when tugging on the leash and when nudging it

THANK-YOU!!
